Re-Entry Program

At the present this program is focused on providing workshops to Rikers Island and Horizon Juvenile Center.  The agency will follow-up with youth after release from incarceration.  Ensure young person are back in school, or in some alternative academic program such as a GED course.  Housing assistance and referrals, court advocacy by attending court dates and hearings.  Maintain youth case record in order to accurately plan and monitor the youth in school, family contact and court dates.  Provide youth with a certificate of participation to highlight his efforts of trying to stay out of jail by partaking in this program.  The idea for this program is help curb the high recidivism rate among the young people in the community at large.

One component of the Re-Entry Program is meeting the people where they are at.  Our re-entry program goes out into the community and works with youth to prevent recidivism.  We always have guest speakers who use their unique talents to express how much more our young people can contribute to themselves, their families and their community when they are free from the criminal justice system.
